Consultation on Community Councils

Aberdeen City Council is currently reviewing the Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils. The Local Government Scotland Act 1973 requires any amendments to the Scheme to be advertised locally to seek representations from members of the public. The consultation ends on Friday 16 February 2018.

Community councils are set up under a scheme called the Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils in Aberdeen which shows:

1.    The roles and responsibilities of Community Councils
2.    The governance arrangements in place to assist Community Councils in carrying out their roles, including Constitution and Standing Orders
3.    The boundaries of each Community Council
4.    The Complaints Procedure for Community Councils

Please note that the maps for each of the areas are available on request by contacting the Community Council Liaison Officer or by viewing them at any of the open days that have been organised to show the revised boundaries for Community Councils and the revisions to the Scheme. 

All meetings will be held in Committee Room 2, Town House, Union Street, Aberdeen

Friday 19 January 2018 – 9am until 5pm
Tuesday 30 January 2018 – 2pm until 8pm
Wednesday 7 February 2018 – 6pm until 9pm
